Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing
Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) is a comprehensive security testing approach that enables organizations to detect and mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities. This methodology integrates two distinct processes to offer a thorough evaluation of an organization's security posture.
The first component, vulnerability assessment (VA), employs automated tools to uncover weaknesses in a system's security or operational performance. Although effective in pinpointing vulnerabilities, this method does not distinguish between those that can be exploited and those that cannot. The second component, penetration testing (PT), seeks to actively exploit the vulnerabilities identified during the assessment phase. Typically conducted manually, penetration testing tends to incur higher costs compared to vulnerability assessments.
